About Carlington

The neighbourhood of Carlington is located west of Fisher Avenue, south of Carling Avenue, east of Maitland and north of Kingston and Caldwell Avenues. Carlington includes mostly residential homes. Amenities are accessible along Merivale and Baseline Roads. The Ottawa Civic Hospital, Algonquin and Carleton University are close by making it ideal for students.

Recreation includes Alexander Park, Carlington Park that features four baseball diamonds, walking paths and a soccer field, as well as Raven Park with its outdoor pool. 

It’s a quick drive to Dow's Lake Pavilion and the stunning Dominion Arboretum for some water recreation and education in nature. The Arboretum was originally developed to test the hardiness of woody plants in the Canadian climate with its 45-degree latitude, it's the most northerly Arboretum on the continent. There are approximately 4,000 specimens to peruse.

Schools in the area are W.E. Gowling Public School and St. Nicholas Adult High School.
