The Rockcliffe area is basically divided into two neighbourhoods, the Old Village and the New Village. The New Village is located between McKay Lake and Birch St. to the east. The Old Village is west of McKay Lake to Sussex Drive. McKay Lake and ‘The Pond’ are protected as part of the Caldwell Carver Conservation Area. It’s located in the heart of this neighbourhood and features a mini hiking trail. The Rockcliffe Pavillion is a popular destination for outdoor weddings, with views that overlook the Ottawa River. The Rockcliffe Parkway runs along the north part of the neighbourhood and also has wonderful views of the Ottawa River. This neighbourhood has low traffic volume and easy access to the scenic Rockcliffe Parkway that travels along the Ottawa River, down Sussex and towards the downtown core.
