About Morgan's Grant & South March, Kanata

Located north of the Kanata North Business Park and Terry Fox Drive, west of March Road, Morgan's Grant is a suburban neighbourhood of Kanata, bounded by March Road, Old Carp Road and Terry Fox Drive. At 2016 Census, the population was 9,825. You'll find mostly single-family homes and townhouses built after 1988.

Morgan's Grant is part of the Briarbrook Brookside Morgan's Grant Community Association.

The Kanata North Business Park is comprised of over 500 companies and over 20,000 high-tech employees.

The neighbourhood features the scenic Trillium Woods Provincial Park - one of Kanata’s largest parks at just under 20 acres, known simply as Trillium Woods, it has no signs and is vast wilderness with a trail system. The trails lead to a frog pond and nature enthusiasts will enjoy the opportunity to see white trillium and other wildflowers among the mature upland forest.

South March Highlands Conservation Forest is right next door, with 15.2 km of trails maintained by the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association and open to the public for dog-walking, jogging, skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking. Wildlife include black bears, beavers, deer, porcupine, songbirds, herons, chipmunks and squirrels.

Just a short drive away is the exclusively public Loch March Golf & Country Club, set in the rugged South Highlands. Residents can take advantage of private lessons with PGA Canada pros, and junior golf instruction for kids and teens.

Home builders in these neighbourhoods include Claridge, Holitzner, Ashcroft, and Minto. 

There are many recreational pathways, parks and playgrounds in Morgan’s Grant for residents. It’s a short trip down Terry Fox Drive to amenities like the Kanata Recreational Complex, and the Kanata Centrum Shopping Centre. Although there are no major bus hubs in Morgan’s Grant, there are buses that service the area. Highway 417 is easily accessible for residents to travel downtown and to different areas of the city. 

There are four schools in this neighbourhood: Jack Donohue Public School, École élementaire publique Julie-Payette, Morgan's Grant Montessori School, South March Public School.

As much as Morgan's Grant is loved for its green space and outdoor recreation, it is equally appreciated for its excellent transit service, nearby shopping and restaurants and convenient access to the Kanata North Business Park.
