About Manor Park
Originally known as Rockliffe Annex at its development in the 1920s, the neighbourhood of Manor Park is located next to New Edinburgh and on the east side of Rockcliffe Park in Ottawa's east end. It's bordered by the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway to the north, the Aviation Parkway to the east, Birch Road to the west, and Montreal Road to the south.
With homes built in the late 1940s and early 1950s by a consortium of five Ottawa-area developers, it is mostly residential with single-family homes, heritage residences, and stacked condos built by LA Group and Townhomes built by Domicile. Just over 7,700 residents (Canada 2016 Census) live here. Manor Park is well treed with beautiful white pines amongst the greenery. Much of the land was originally used as riding trails and became home to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables and the notable Musical Ride, which remain today.

As of March, 2022, there are plans for redevelopment of Manor Park Estates; a mixed-use development plan that will be pursued over 50 years to deliver up to 4,000 residential units where 654 mid-century townhouses currently sit. While there is support for more affordable housing options for those trying to enter the market there is opposition to the potential increase in traffic density, impacts to green space and building heights from 9 to 30 storeys.
There is easy access to downtown Ottawa by car, via the Vanier Parkway and the Queensway or via public transit OC Transpo and the St. Laurent O-Train Station.
The neighbourhood offers plenty of cycling, hiking and walking trails. Just a short distance away is the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, located on a former military base, only 5 km from the Prime Minister's residence and focused on Canadian aviation from 1909 to today. Only a short walk to Beechwood Avenue in neighbourhing Lindenlea and New Edinburgh, residents have access to numerous cafés, boutiques and restaurants, and the Montfort Hospital a 5-10 minute drive away. Manor Park Public School, welcoming children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 is the only school in this area.
