Centrepointe is a residential subdivision in the west end of Ottawa with detached single family, townhomes and apartments. Much of it was built between 1985 to 1990 making it an area of “newer” homes within the Greenbelt. This community features Ben Franklin Place; a complex that houses the Centrepointe Theatre, a branch of the Ottawa public library and an outdoor skating rink. There are also a number of bike paths, parks and schools in the area
It’s a short commute by bus or car to shopping centers like Bayshore, College Square and Carlingwood Mall and a 15-20 minute drive to the Ottawa Airport. It’s a convenient location for students attending Algonquin College due to its close proximity and easy access to buses at Baseline station which is directly across from the campus. The installation of the Algonquin footbridge is a big help to college students as it helps them avoid heavy traffic at the Woodroffe cross walk.
