About Mooney's Bay

Mooney's Bay is located in the south end of Ottawa, inside the Greenbelt, you’ll find a variety of homes and styles in this neighbourhood. We also cover the Riverside Park neighbourhood.

Bungalows and split level homes built in the early 1960’s can be found to the east of Riverside Drive. To the west you’ll find large homes with some waterfront properties fetching over a million dollars. To the south are single family homes as well as a small number of condominium apartments and condo townhomes.

Since 2000, Mooneys Bay has seen an average of 100 homes sell per year, with a high of 119 sales in 2010. Also, since the year 2000 we have seen home prices decrease in 4 of those years.

In the Mooney's Bay neighbourhood, properties close to the Rideau River may be subject to flooding. To see which homes and streets that are on the flood plain, visit the City of Ottawa website and look on a “geomap”.

You’ll find a number of students in this neighbourhood because of its proximity to Carleton University. Schools in the area include Brookfield high school, General Vanier public, Bayview public and Holy Cross catholic school. Its close proximity to Mooney’s Bay beach, Terry Fox stadium, Hog’s Back and Vincent Massey Park provide a number of recreational activities.

It’s convenient for residents who enjoy the pathways for bicycles and cross country skiing during the winter months. There is swimming and boating in the summer. It’s a quick drive to the Billings Bridge Plaza where you have access to shopping and groceries.

Mooneys Bay has easy access to the airport and airport parkway. It’s approximately 15-20 minutes to downtown and a 10 minute drive to the airport. For those without cars OC Transpo buses also service this neighbourhood.

Riverside Park, Bounded by the Rideau River to the west, north of Brookfield Rd, east of the Airport Parkway and south of the CN railroad tracks. Riverside Park is predominately residential with high rise apartment complexes along Springland Drive and Norberry Crescent.

Home to Mooney’s Bay beach and park that features walking paths, a picnic area and tennis courts. For recreation there is the Terry Fox Athletic Facility located on Riverside Dr. Schools in the neighbourhood include Holy Cross School and Brookfield High School.

Riverside Park South information Located south of Walkley Rd, west of the O-Train, east of McCarthy Rd. and north of the CN rail road. Most of the community is composed of residential homes built by Campeau.

There are three parks in the neighbourhood: Arnott Park, Linton Park and Stanstead Park that feature tennis courts and a baseball diamond.

Close proximity to Mooney’s Bay and its recreational facilities as well as the Ottawa International Airport. A 5-10 minute drive will take you to South Keys which features a Cineplex cinema, Walmart and a Loblaws.

Schools in Riverside Park areas include: École Élémentaire Catholique Georges-Étienne-Cartier Fielding Drive Public School.
