About McKellar Park, Highland Park and Laurentianview

McKellar Park and Highland Park area, including Laurentianview has seen a steady number of sales since 2000, of about 60 or 70 and also saw home prices increase for the first 10 years up until 2010 where we saw the first decrease in prices. After 2010 we've seen 7 years of increases and 4 years with decreases.  The increases were far more significant and larger, especially in 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021, with the average house price now sitting at over $1M.

McKellar Park is considered a trendy area being close to Westboro Village. McKellar Park is also considered a higher-end residential neighbourhood with roughly 300 residents. Residents have access to amenities such as the Dovercourt Recreation Centre, the YMCA and a branch of the Ottawa Public Library, Carlingwood Shopping Centre and plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques located in Westboro. Highland Park is a sub-neighbourhood of Westboro. Approximately 4,200 people live here. Located just south of the Ottawa River, it is well serviced for public transport with multiple OC Transpo buses running through the neighbourhood taking residents to any part of the city with ease. Parks in and around Highland Park include McKellar Park, Westboro Kiwanis Park and Tillbury Park, allowing lots of opportunity for outdoor activities. Residents also have access to paths for walking, running, and biking. This area provides a mixture of single-family homes, apartments and condominiums. Highland Park has a tennis court, a baseball diamond, and a field used for soccer and football which are well-enjoyed by residents. 

Laurentianview is the neighbourhood named after the Laurentian mountains because of its location on a steep hill. The area is bounded west to Churchill, north to Richmond, east to Kirkwood and south by Carling Avenue. It's a sub-neighbourhood of Westboro and includes Clare Gardens Park and many bike paths. It is found within the boundaries of Hampton-Iona neighbourhood.
