About Craig Henry
Formerly the property of Craig Henry Farm and developed by Jack Aaron, Craig Henry is located in the west end of Ottawa west of Woodroffe Avenue, east of Greenbank Road, north of Knoxdale Road and south of the CN railroad that separates it from Centrepointe and Briargreen.
Since 2000, it took the Craig Henry and Woodvale areas just 10 years for the average price of a home to double, that's pretty fast. These areas see about 40 homes sell per year, with a high of 83 sales back in 2004 and a low of just 29 sales in 2014.
In the same time period, we've seen only 3 decreases in price, Two smaller ones in 2007 and in 2015, and larger ones in 2011 at 16% and 2017 at 10%.
This could just be the fact that more of the higher-end homes sold that year, as a quick recoveries were made right after these drops. In 2021 59 homes sold at an average price of $567,638, a 27% increase from 2020.
These neighbourhoods have a variety of homes such as townhomes, semi-detached, single family and apartments. Craig Henry is home to the Congregation Beit Tikvah of Ottawa synagogue as well as the Craig Henry Tennis Club and Sir Robert Borden High School.
There is shopping along Baseline at the College Square as well as along Merivale Road for residents and is well serviced by OC Transpo with the Baseline bus hub nearby.
