About Arnprior

Traditionally the territory of the Algonquin nation of indigenous North Americans, Arnprior is a town in Renfrew County, in the eastern portion of Southern Ontario, and gets it's name from Arnprior, Scotland, locally nicknamed "The Prior".

It's 65 km west of downtown Ottawa at the confluence of the Madawaska River and the Ottawa River. With the widening of Highway 417, Arnprior experienced significant growth and at 2021 Census, the population of Arnprior was 9,629, up 9.5% from 2016.

Known for lumber, hydro power generation, aerospace, farming and its proximity to Ottawa, some of the major employers are:
